I'm using colinux-0.6.1 with a REAL debian filesystem (i.e. on a separate partition). I am using Cygiwn Xfree to connect to XDMCP running in colinux. I'm running gdm and gnome. I have XP with bridged networking. I have set the colinux ram to 128MB (seem to have more trouble when set to 256MB for some reason). I often have applications that die. Particularly Mozilla, FireFox and Gnome Panel objects. I also notice that there is sometimes a panel icon that has completely screwed colours but every other icon and application is perfect. The browser and mail clients are slowish, but traversing hierarchical menus is EXTREMELY slow. xscreensaver kicks in after a period of inactivity but I can not type in a password as it gets a timeout every second :( I end up logging in as root on the console and doing "killall xscreensaver" to get around this. I think I am have some SSL problems with some applications. One java app will connect to a data service fine without SSL when I know I have used SSL in the past with the native linux boot. I am using Cygwin Xfree but I think I would prefer to use VNC. The reason being that when I suspend my computer and transport it between work and home I get different IP addresses (DHCP) for the colinux VM and the X session dies. Unfortunately VNC is giving me keyboard mapping problems and I can't type passwords in mozilla dialog boxes. The mapping seems OK in a terminal until I fire up mozilla which then stuffs up everything. Does anyone else have similar experiences, solutions or suggestions to solve the above problems???
