are you starting vnc from inetd? or manually. do you mean log in at kdm login screen? then it goes to the desktop? I can think of 2 different ways that can accomplish what you want. If you want no login at all then you can set an autologin in the kdm config files. can't find the info right now but will send a helpfull link when I find i= t. It's kindof burried in the vnc docs I was reading about this a few weeks = ago. What version of vnc are you using?
