Take a look at the colinux-devel list archives, this has come up there, 
but not on this list.  Anyway, the message that gave me the hint I 
needed to get working was:

 The problem is that fsck cannot find /dev/cobd0
 or something.... here is a quick fix:
 
 Boot with the option init=/bin/bash
 
 cd /dev
 ln -sf cobd/0 cobd0
 
 reboot


Hope that it sets you looking in the right direction.
