Hi, For reasons unknown to me but perhaps a firewall, ping doesn't work for = me at all. But do basic things like telnet / wget work? (I don't know = which distribution you were using; if gentoo then use wget and a URL to = test network connections). Also, since no network actually works for me I installed a proxy = (FreeProxy) and set up various proxy-variables so that gentoo-tools and = wget actually work through the proxy.
