I don't think the metric would make a difference (see man route if you
havn't already)

not shure why you don't have a loopback (127.0.0.1) but that should not
matter for ping by address but may mess up other stuff.

try Ilias's sugestion. but I think the index is supposed to corespond to
the interface on the linux side ie: index=3D"0" for eth0 and index=3D"4" =
for
eth4
I think I had a name=3D parameter in an older xml that I ended up removin=
g
to get it working with 0.6.1
