Category: None Group: None >Status: Closed Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: fedora core installation Initial Comment: Hey, there should be a version of colinux that basicly runs a full version of fedora core on top of windows. Also it needs to be easy to setup. I know this is alot to ask but fedora core is awsome and very useful. I would like to switch to fedora core as my primary operating system but numerous things keep me from doing so. This seems like a good solution to my problem and I'm sure there are allot of other people in the same boat. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Henry N. (henryn) Date: 2010-03-13 22:14 Message: Since network and disk (scsi) drivers are listed as PCI device. This should work now. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Dr Bill C Riemers (docbill) Date: 2007-07-19 05:03 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=290784 Originator: NO The images work well, but it would be really nice to figure out a way to run anaconda under coLinux. Then it would be possible to just do a network install of any Fedora, Red Hat, or CentOS version. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Danny Staple (orionrobots) Date: 2006-07-03 12:36 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=748225 Its interesting you should mention that furyy, as it seems to be very similar, or may contribute to what this post: http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/showthread.php?t=460083&highlight=boot+iso was asking. It would be pretty amazing (but it may require more integration work) to get colinux to be able to boot from a Knoppix or similar ISO. After installing with your own options you convert it to colinux. It tells also about how to setup your x-server to use xdmcp. For Fedora core 5 you need to do some adjustments for udev http://wiki.colinux.org/mediawiki/index.php/Fedora5MinimalInstall071 which somebody told at the mailinglist and I tried. It works. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Date: 2006-05-25 23:36 Message: Logged In: NO I have made a Fedora Core 5 2GB image. Anyone wanting to test it for bugs are welcome as Henry is at holidays : http://www.freewebtown.com/cobd/ Image is in rar as the host seems to have 260mb diskusage limit :P Any future version might get published at ftp.funet.fi. Return email from staff pending... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: FurYy (furyy) Date: 2006-05-16 17:48 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1419670 Maybe it would be more smart to just make some base root fs image and some scripts so that the user could install any flavor of linux he/she wants by just downloading a iso and extracting the vmlinux from the iso. I'll look into it. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=622066&aid=1489544&group_id=98788 |
