if coLinux is fully registered as a service, it can be easily managed from the windows control panel, without necessarily requiring console commands to be executed manually by the user

This is not possible from installer. The installer has no information about
your configuration (cobdX Blockdvices, ethX network devices).

You need first create a runable config file and than you can use this
config file to create a service.

colinux already runs just fine as a service, at least it did the last time
I checked (before I moved to Vista x64).  There are a ton of different
programs to register services, I always used cygwin cygrunsrv to do it but
others like srvany from Microsoft should work too.
