Yes, that will work.

Yes.

Not much. You loose 128 MB of memory. And if you have a stripped down linux it will not use the cpu if squid/dansguardian has nothing to do.

XP uses both cores, check with task manager if you have 2 cpuload graphs. If not something with your install went wrong. colinux can only use what windows recognizes.
