This is rather silly but it has worked in the past. Delete all of your network devices, reboot and reinstall everything (namely the tap devices, the rest should autodetect) and see if this fixes things. I've seen it work once in the past with XP on this list and I've used it a few times under earlier operating systems (especially 98).
