Hi: Occasionally when colinux is operating my Windows network connection drops out. Interestingly enough my colinux internet connection still works. My Windows network can only be restored by shutting down colinux. At first I thought this problem occurred because Microsoft sets to 10 the maximum number of simultaneous TCP-connections allowed - causing event 4226 in the event viewer. Using a registry hack I increased this limitation to100 max connections. Error 4226 is gone from my event log, however, the problem still persists. Has anyone else experienced a problem similar to this? It occurs most often when the cpu is very busy (i.e. compiling code on colinux) or after leaving colinux running for long periods. My colinux/Windows network configuration is attached below. Thanks, Merrick |

It will never work with the address containing 456 or 789. |

Mr. Krull: I am using colinux version 0.6.4. It is not being used as a Windows internet router. The ip123.456.789.01 is fictitious so as not to give out my real ip address. These are the network config lines taken from my config.xml file: <network index="0" type="tap" name="colinux" /> <network index="1" type="bridged" name="ethernet" /> Thanks for you assistance. You have a real ethernet card from windows bridged with winpcap to eth1 in colinux. You use that for internet connection from colinux. 2. You have a tap adapter in windows connected to eth0 in colinux and use that for connection to colinux. If that is right, which connection gets lost? |

I have no problems with the tap/eth0 connection. The bridged connection somehow adversely affects the Windows ethernet connection without disconnecting colinux from the internet. > If that is right, which connection gets lost? > Only the ethernet side of the Windows bridged connection goes down. |

Try to set the mac address to a fixed value in the xml file for the winpcap interface. Do you get any errors, dropped packets or overruns in colinux on eth1 if the windows connection gets lost? |
