Hey everyone, I've been requested to send an email to here for an RFE. The request should be directed to, from what George Boutwell was saying, Johnathan Ballard. I wanted to request the same functionality in console-nt as what exists in console-fltk with regards to sending a CTRL-ALT-DELETE signal to the running driver. There are often times when I am rushing to shut down my colinux driver and want to shut down the system properly, rather than clicking the X on the console, which shuts the whole system down as if a power-off was done. I'd rather pick a menu-option where if when you click on it, the driver will act as if it got a CTRL-ALT-DELETE. Now that I think about it, it might be nice to user-select what the X does in the colinux-nt... either do an immediate "power off", or a CTRL-ALT-DELETE (warm shutdown) of the system. Ian |

I believe a good solution would be to have the same functionality found in QEMU: the user clicks a special key like F12 and then every single key pressed until the next F12 will be sent to colinux as if they were pressed simultaneously. A simple use case: user presses F12, then presses Alt, Ctrl, Delete (one at a time) and finishes with another F12. The console will then send Alt+Ctrl+Delete to CoLinux. For the novice users that don't read manual pages ;), a menu option added to the system menu of the nt console can also be implemented. QEMU also has another key (F11 if I'm not mistaken) to toggle mouse input (grab the mouse for colinux). We can make a double F12 (F12-F12) as a way to send F12 to colinux, and F12-F11-F12 to send F11 to colinux. This way, we can make programs that need Alt+Tab to work (F12-Alt-Tab-F12). -- Regards, ~Nuno Lucas |
