I have been trying to develop my own linux distribution using LFS 6.0 and
the snapshot of 24th October. My problem is now I have reached the stage
where upon I need to start testing the system using a different application
(Qemu). Qemu is able to read the filesystem images that CoLinux uses but it
cannot however install a bootloader on to the disk. I did manage to create
an image of a boot floppy with Colinux that runs under Qemu. Upon trying to
boot the disk however it reads unknown filesystem. I have managed to set up
the partition table on the disk but still it did not work.
My only solution was to create a new disk with Qemu and setup the partition
info (root and swap on same virtual disk) and then format the partitions. I
have since been able to copy the filesystem from the colinux image to this
new image, but I can't use this new image with Colinux, I just get a kernel
panic. The structure of the file is like so
virtual /dev/hda containing:
Anyone know a way of solving this or is it an issue with CoLinux itself.
