I found the Linux Test Project page by chance -- http://ltp.sf.net/ -- and decided to make a run of it on coLinux. At first was using the "official" 20040710 snapshot. But then I talked with *gboutwell* on the IRC channel and ended with his coLinux-0.6.2-gpb0811.tar.bz2 private build. It includes Henry Nestler patches, initrd support and kernel skas patch (I confess I don't know what that is). To summarize, the new build fixed two of the tests failed by 20040710: * gettimeofday02 - "Testcase to check if gettimeofday is monotonous." * gf12 [growfiles] - "This program will grow a list of files. Each file will grow by grow_incr before the same file grows twice. Each file is open and closed before next file is opened." My specs (Gentoo linux): lucas@colinux testcases $ uname -a Linux colinux 2.6.7-co-0.6.2-skas3 #1 Wed Aug 11 13:28:34 CDT 2004 i686 Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 1.70GHz GenuineIntel GNU/Linux There are still 19 tests that FAIL: ====================================================== Test Start Time: Fri Aug 13 03:57:31 2004 ----------------------------------------- Testcase Result Exit Value -------- ------ ---------- ioperm01 FAIL 2 ioperm02 FAIL 1 iopl01 FAIL 5 iopl02 FAIL 1 nanosleep02 FAIL 1 sendmsg01 FAIL 2 setgroups03 FAIL 1 swapoff01 FAIL 2 swapoff02 FAIL 6 syslog01 FAIL 1 syslog02 FAIL 1 syslog03 FAIL 1 syslog04 FAIL 1 syslog05 FAIL 1 syslog06 FAIL 1 syslog07 FAIL 1 syslog08 FAIL 1 syslog09 FAIL 1 syslog10 FAIL 1 ----------------------------------------------- Total Tests: 802 Total Failures: 19 Kernel Version: 2.6.7-co-0.6.2-skas3 Machine Architecture: i686 Hostname: colinux ====================================================== Here's their descriptions: ioperm01 - Basic test for ioperm(). ioperm02 - Test for error conditions. iopl01 - Basic test for iopl(). iopl02 - Test for error conditions. nanosleep02 - Verify that nanosleep() will be successful to suspend the execution of a process, returns after the receipt of a signal and writes the remaining sleep time into the structure. sendmsg01 - Verify that sendmsg() returns the proper errno for various failure cases. setgroups03 - Verify that, only root process can invoke setgroups() system call to set the supplementary group IDs of the process. swapoff01 - Basic test for swapoff(2). swapoff02 - Test checking for basic error conditions. [I don't include syslog here because I'm sure it is because I have syslog-ng, instead of the standard syslog] As a mean of comparison I also run the TLP test in my gentoo box (my firewall/router) and the results were a bit surprising: ====================================================== lucas@tux $ uname -a Linux tux 2.4.25_pre7-gss-r5 #1 Wed Jun 23 23:26:46 WEST 2004 i686 Pentium II (Klamath) GenuineIntel GNU/Linux lucas@tux $ cat results.log | grep FAIL access02 FAIL 1 alarm04 FAIL 1 chmod05 FAIL 2 chmod06 FAIL 2 chown04 FAIL 2 execve03 FAIL 1 execve04 FAIL 1 fchmod05 FAIL 2 fchmod06 FAIL 2 fchown03 FAIL 2 lchown02 FAIL 2 mmap03 FAIL 1 mmap04 FAIL 1 nanosleep02 FAIL 1 readlink04 FAIL 5 sendmsg01 FAIL 2 shmat01 FAIL 3 swapoff01 FAIL 2 swapoff02 FAIL 6 syslog01 FAIL 1 syslog02 FAIL 1 syslog03 FAIL 1 syslog04 FAIL 1 syslog05 FAIL 1 syslog06 FAIL 1 syslog07 FAIL 1 syslog08 FAIL 1 syslog09 FAIL 1 syslog10 FAIL 1 pty01 FAIL 2 lucas@tux $ tail results.log ----------------------------------------------- Total Tests: 802 Total Failures: 30 Kernel Version: 2.4.25_pre7-gss-r5 Machine Architecture: i686 Hostname: tux ====================================================== In face of this results, I guess we can extrapolate that only ioperm01/2 and iopl01/2 are colinux related, because the coserial isn't working yet. I don't understand the setgroups03 test failing, but I don't see it as being colinux related. I think this shows the wonderful work made with colinux and how stable it is becoming :) Links to full results: http://quixote.planetaclix.pt/colinux/colinux-skas3-20040811.log [38854 bytes] http://quixote.planetaclix.pt/colinux/colinux-skas3-20040811.output [650063 bytes] http://quixote.planetaclix.pt/colinux/colinux-skas3-20040811.output.bz2 [37588 bytes] http://quixote.planetaclix.pt/colinux/colinux-snapshot-20040710.log [38848 bytes] http://quixote.planetaclix.pt/colinux/gentoo-2.4.25_pre7-gss-r5.log [38848 bytes] Well, have fun and keep the good work :) Regards, ~Nuno Lucas (Slog in the IRC channel ;) |
