It's expecting the environment variable $PREFIX to be set. you can do that by prepending like so: $PREFIX=/usr/local/mingw32 ./build-all.sh John peter green wrote: >root@knoppix:~/colinux-20040415/bin# ./build-all.sh >Please specify the $PREFIX directory (e.g, /usr/local/mingw32) >root@knoppix:~/colinux-20040415/bin# ./build-all.sh /usr/local/mingw32 >Please specify the $PREFIX directory (e.g, /usr/local/mingw32) >root@knoppix:~/colinux-20040415/bin# ./build-all.sh >$PREFIX=/usr/local/mingw32 >Please specify the $PREFIX directory (e.g, /usr/local/mingw32) >root@knoppix:~/colinux-20040415/bin# > >what should i type? >--- >Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. >Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com). >Version: 6.0.648 / Virus Database: 415 - Release Date: 31/03/2004 > > > >------------------------------------------------------- >This SF.Net email is sponsored by: IBM Linux Tutorials >Free Linux tutorial presented by Daniel Robbins, President and CEO of >GenToo technologies. Hi Dan! Can you include the attached patch for "linux-config"? It adds some modules that may be useful to many people. Among others, they let you run iptables under Fedora. Basically I've added: ppp modules, tap driver (for OpenVPN), some filesystems (including read-only NTFS) and CryptoAPI. Jarek |

Download the latest snapshot from www.colinux.org/snapshots/ and it should be fine. Newer snapshots bear 0.6.1 kernel version and that's the reason. Hi, I'm trying to get the latest fedora root fs running, but without luck. I'm getting the following error: Setting hostname colinux: [OK] modprobe: Can't open dependencies file /lib/modules/2.4.25-co-0.6.0/modules.dep (No such file or directory) Checking root filesystem /dev/cobd0 is mounted. e2fsck: Cannont continue, aborting. Press enter for maintenance (or type Control-D to continue): What's wrong? The only difference to the install instructions is the different root image path. Instead of drive C, I'm using drive D (\DosDevices\d:\colinux\fc1_2GB_root). Any hints? -- Regards, Mathias -- Mit freundlichem Gru=DF, Mathias Walter |

Attached is the make log, any ideas? Another keyboard bug... The french keyboard is not well supported by colinux-console-* : the "Alt Gr" (right Alt key on french keyboards) key is ignored and this prevents french users to type characters like "#" "|" or "@" which are relativelly important whatever you may want to do with the console. I imagine that this problems also appears with other non-us keyboards. Putty/Vnc/Xwin deals with these keys and can be used, but this is not a good issue since maintenance tasks like making something from the bare debian image is quite difficult. -- Benoit Favre tel: +33 (0)4 90 84 35 77 mobile: +33 (0)6 63 20 02 14 mail: ben...@li... |

Unfortunately, DbgPrint() in the driver is called on success only. Dan, could you make a snapshot with DbgPrints on errors in these routines? Sorry for my broken english. Ignore dificult/imposible to understand. Debian, Gentoo and fedora images all use diferent configuration files for network setup. Its usefull to use coLinux to learn this differences withouth messing with huge CD downloads. Thanks to all image creators, and to all people triing to improve these images with is feedback. I not agree morfic, but its good feedback. Some people will spect the same taste of image design. My reasons to disagree is that for testing purposes and cfg learning can be better a smaller download. Also looks like dificult to get big files hosted/mirrored. Removing a lovable tool can be needed to achieve a very small image download. Reporting about this important deleted tool in the readme can be a good idea. I actually think the fedora1 packaging method was *excellent*: - provide all files needed. xml config, main image, swap image.. - small download - very informative readme file, with examples of use. Related: Hummm.... I think fullfilling the request at "documentation, icons" thread will make the coLinux package much more usable. I have already provide a icon, but is lame, and is derived work. Other people may download and edit the wiki help pages (coLinuxNetworking and other pages) with a consistent style and send to the developers. I suggest "running as service" where the main suggested method, has is very smooth and generate good feelings about the coLinux stability. I, for one, somethimes close by mistake coLinux in app mode. AND looks like much more easy to open a shell and type 'net start coLinux' than everything (Helll... looks like I am a console zealot or what?) Yeah, I agree. as a future plan, I would do like this on conoppix: clicking .elf file (or .daemon) -> run colinux with this configuration. clickinc .distribution (or .linux) -> same as clicking .elf. clicking .cbd(or ubd or cow or cloop or ...) -> shows a pop up that tells you to click related .elf/distribution/linux.... file. clicking .kernel -> same as clicking cbd. clicking colinux.exe -> appears a window similar to VMWare initial window. you can select settings in that window. (colinux.exe is colinux-daemon.exe of current zip file.) type $ colinux -> same as clicking it. type $ colinux -h -> show command line syntax. type $ colinux -c xxx -> run colinux with this configutation. clicking other exe -> dont do it. .xml file -> I think all .xml files must be disappeared. Why you use this extention, with risk of confusing? use .elf or other exetention which is easily understood as a Linux binary. default.colinux.xml -> renamed to default.colinux.xml.elf. so your proposal, which eliminate default.xml, would be right. --- Okajima. >Hello, > >I've been thinking about changing the daemon's default behavior to >print its help screen when it doesn't receive any pparameters instead >of trying to run Linux. The combination of a penguin and the windows is quite good. One suggestion though. Why not simply have the penguin shown fully and sitting on top of windows? This makes it obvious what coLinux is for (at least for this win32 port) and gives people an impression that we are on the top. As for the color choices, I think light/pale colors are more artistically appealing to people. Just my opinion. Thanks. If I can't keep and & or strait from my head to my fingers so much for a programing career for me ;) Actually the default behavior is probably a non issue because of the future gui configuration those of us using it before 1.0 should be able to adapt to whatever. chris |
