I have colinux 2.6.10 up and running.  Networking is up and running using TAP.  From colinux I can reach internet sites, can ping my W2k host (192.168.0.1) and other comps on the LAN.  I can ping my colinux from W2k host (ping 192.168.0.40).
I followed all the instructions to get vnc working.  From root I issue vncserver -geom... -depth... .  It gives me:

    New 'X' desktop is colinux:1

    Starting applications specified in /etc/X11/Xsession
    Log file is /root/.vnc/colinux:1.log

    I run VNCViewer with 192.168.0.40:1

Nothing...  It just seems that if I can ping both ways vnc should work.  Any suggestions?  Thanks.

I was able to get vnc to work from a different computer on our LAN.  Brings up the KDE Desktop.  Urrg... why can't I get this to work from the host?

Could you try the connection out with a simpler service like telnet or ssh?
If you can iron out the problems there, you could move onto trying it with VNC.
