We would like the ability to automate diff creation
during check-in in SubVersion like CVS can do with the
modified perl scripts. Is there a way to do this?

I have done some work with Subversion using SCMBUG which means that if you are using Subversion and Scmbug (along with either Bugzilla or Test Director) then you can create a Topic by just supplying a Bug ID when creating the Topic. (It will then generate the appropriate diff for work done under that Bug ID).

I have supplied a diff of these changes to David so that he can merge them in if he feels they are useful.
