Cobos 2.3.2 is available for download at http://cobos.metrixware.com
FTP Access manages host connection (therefore no longer requires filling all forms with hostname, username and password). We fixed also an issue with je3270 launch (see http://metrixware.com/cobos-ide-mainframe-opensource/cobos-release-notes for more information).
Some of you may have encountered problems that can easily be avoided:
- Cobos_workspace / Resource out of sync : In the Navigator view, select
the project (COBOS_SAMPLE for instance) and do a Refresh (Press PF5 key)
- je3270 / Copy / Paste: If you copy text (Ctrl-C) in an editor within
eclipse and you try to paste it (Ctrl-V) within je3270, Eclipse freezes! (30 seconds on Windows
7, permanently on XP)
It is a long running problem in Eclipse encountered by the securisation of je3270.
You can bypass it by copying the text in an editor outside Eclipse as notepad
and then copying it from this editor.
- FTP Access and Windows 7(or, more generaly, firewall) : If action "0.
configure FTP connection' works but data transfer do not respond, you have
to modify Firewall configuration and enable data transfer.
Hoping this is usefull
I have tried recently to install COBOS in Eclipse Juno, but it fails even at opening a repository for the core elements (compiler etc.). Rexx editor is the only one that installs, but then again I don't see it at views etc.
As written in the Quickstart Manual, Cobos is fully tested with Eclipse 3.6.2 (Helios). It should work with Eclipse 3.7.2 (Indigo) but the support of Eclipse 4.x is not planned yet.
For information, the problems above have been fixed in Cobos 2.3.3 available for download.
