However it is not quite useful = yet so no announcements... As it turns out version 0.5 is "code complete". This constitutes enough o= f the language to be usable in writing the runtime routines. I am working on the documentation including web page updates, and an RPM package for Red Hat Linux. I hope that will be ready soon and I will anno= unce it in comp.lang.cobol. One of the issues with being an add-on to GCC is that it is not a simple matter of releasing a tarball. If people want to compile it themselves th= ey need to install the GCC source and then add cobol4gcc to that which is complex. Tim Josling |
