James, Yes I am still working on it. I am half way through doing 'IF' at the moment. Threee places to start: 1. http://gcc.gnu.org has a 'readings' link. The GCC manual is also there. 2. The new 'treelang' language which is at http://cobolforgcc.sourceforge.net/butree.tgz. IMHO this is a much better 'toy' language. It is plaanned to include it into the GCC source tree soon. 3. The COBOL complier manual has a guide on writing front ends at http://cobolforgcc.sourceforge.net/cobol_14.html. Good luck!
