I had am email from them saying that we were welcome to use the
test suite for testing our compilers. But there does not seem to
be any doco.

The way it is structured is that the first program is a program
that extracts the other programs. You need to provide various
parameters to guide the first program. I didn't get any further
than that. You will need to reverse engineer the parameter
details from the source.
