Tom,

Just one point to be aware of. If you are going to make a substantial
contribution (beyond a few lines of code) then we will need to arrange
a copyright assignment to the Free Software Foundation by yourself for
the work. 

This is so they can sue people who try to steal the code. 

That's normally not a problem, but they also require a disclaimer from
your employer or school or college. This is if you are employed or
studying.
