Try this: ./cobertura-instrument.sh --destination /ariba/9r2_sourcing/Instrument /ariba/9r2_sourcing/roots-S49r2/install/classes Make sure you don't instrument classes twice (delete the contents of the instrument dir before the command). Hello Coberturans, I submitted pull request #102 back in early December: https://github.com/cobertura/cobertura/pull/102 Any chance it might be accepted soon? It seems it would resolve a couple of open issues, and some other pull requests have already been closed in favor of it. Having it would also help the Apache Accumulo team with its use of Cobertura. You can build the cobertura jar by running `mvn package` which will generate the binaries in the target directory. Or you could go to the CI server and download the snapshot version: https://cobertura.ci.cloudbees.com/job/Cobertura/ On Wed, Apr 9, 2014 at 9:48 PM, J <mc...@gm...> wrote: > So I have cloned the git repository. Last I checked this project wasn't dead...In fact there was a commit that was made 5 days ago to migrate to asm 5. A lot of waiting on my part was for asm 5 to be an official release and for java 8 to become GA. Hi, Have a query regarding cobertura-maven. Any help is appreciated. I could integrate cobertua with maven. But when I run mvn cobertura:cobertura the report generated shows 0%. The project has multiple modules like: ./project |-pom.xml |-project-api | |- pom.xml |-project-impl | |- pom.xml |-unit-tests | |- pom.xml What steps need to be followed when running cobertura with maven for a projct having multiple modules. Note that it worked when I placed the test case class inside the actual source project i.e. inside project-api. But I do not want to structure it that way. Thanks, Ankur |

I'm looking at an existing test with very questionable code, which uses reflection to get all the declared fields of the CUT, attempting to create mock instances of all of them. Without Cobertura, it gets the expected list of declared fields. With Cobertura, it doesn't get the declared fields of the class, it only gets a single field "int[] __cobertura_counters". I tried both "ClassName.class.getDeclaredFields()" and "instance.getClass().getDeclaredFields()". I need to understand what's going on here. Despite the dubious nature of what it's doing, is it possible to have the Cobertura-processed code get the original list of declared fields of the CUT? |

Hi, I am from the OpenJDK Quality Group at Oracle. I am working with Open Source projects that are testing JDK 8 Early Access builds (either those published by Oracle <https://jdk8.java.net/download.html>, or their own) and I would like to encourage more of it to happen. I am looking for a contact person who is interested in working with me , sharing your test experiences and any issues uncovered by testing Cobertura with JDK 8 EA builds. I expect this will be of benefit to both communities. We are now very late in the release cycle of JDK 8 , issues found late may be postponed to an Update Release. The first column is the line number in the source file. It is never red, and it is green only if there is some executable code on it. The second column line is green when the line and all conditionals on the line are covered. Otherwise, it is red. The way to see the lines covered (ignoring the conditional coverage), you can't rely on the colors. You need to look at the number in the second column. It tells the number of time the line is executed. Look for zeros. -----Original Message----- From: Gopinath, Rahul [mailto:gop...@on...] Sent: Tuesday, January 14, 2014 8:34 PM To: cob...@li... Hi cobertura community, The project that my team and I are working on requires remote collection of the coverage data without interrupting the running service (ie. not only collect data when JVM exits but while the application is running as well). For instance, it could be a server socket running on a separate thread on the application under test, accepting connections on a particular port, and upon receiving a coverage data collection request from a client, it would return the current coverage data. The client issuing the request to collect data on the other hand, would collect this coverage data from the server and merge them with existing local data (if any). Additionally, one other requirement that we have to fulfill is that after running a particular test, we need to collect the coverage data remotely (as described above) and then reset the counters for the next test. Overall, the flow should look like the following: time -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------> client [start test 1] _________________________________ [end of test 1, get coverage data request and reset]------- [ merge received data with existing ones] --------------- [ start test 2] .....----> | | | | server ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- [send coverage data to client and reset current counters] --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------> I would greatly appreciate any information as to to what degree I can fulfill the project requirements with the existing cobertura functionality and whether you think the effort to implement a server socket and the logic to send the coverage data remotely and reset existing counters would be significant (I took a look at the source code but I am not quite sure what needs to be done yet). Furthermore, any additional information regarding which files need to be modified in order to reset the existing counters and what kind of synchronization is needed to access the coverage data before sending them remotely to the client, would be greatly appreciated. Kind Regards, Harry |

Dear Cobertura users/developers, After I have upgraded my Cobertura from v1.9.4.1 to v2.0.3 I have noticed that line coverage is wrong for certain classes: line is definitely covered with unit test, but is reported as not covered. I can't provide the clean class+text example, as the class is implicitly tested by other unit tests. I can share maven output and generated HTML report. -- With best regards, Dmitry |
