Im sorry you couldny solve the problem. I also tried thousand times, and 
finaly have come to a solution. As crazy as you can imagine. It only 
works under an Xterminal O_o. Well,  modprobe usb-uhci, moun usbdevfs, 
download the firmwares to de modem under X, insmod module,  netup and 
ioctl. I have to ioctl 2 times til i get a properly syncro, and then i 
runs fine, not perfect, but usable. Sometimes i have 0 KB/s in 
transfers. And surfing is very fustrating, i get a lot of timeouts.
