Hi all, I'm spanish but I write this in english because I hope that much more mor= e people could help this way. I'm using a mostly fresh gentoo 1.4, and trying to use the ambipur (coppe= rjet) in linux. No luck. I've had some probs, but finally I could compiled co800 (I compiled it as= the README file). Also I've configured the network (my ip, netmask, gw, dns1,= dns2). all done using a kernel with the usb drivers (uhci, ohci inclusive ohci) = buit-in and not as modules. Also, linux-atm was not well compiled at the time of compiling co800 (later I found that it wouln't compile since i wanted to = compile linux-atm in a partition owned by users, and this seem not possible). After all, when I run co800 -in, it says: //////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// (shell)# co800 -in co800 -in: I can't find busses co800 -in: I can't find busses //////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// No matter if the modem is connected to the pc or not!! (So you can guess = that the leds of the modem don't change. They're exacly like when the modem is disconnected from the computer). Then I compiled linux-atm, which seems to work. co800 -in tells me the sa= me error. So I tried to compile the kenrel with uhci and ohci as modules, bu= t when I try to insmod usb-ohci, it gives me the above errors: //////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// /lib/modules/2.4.20-gentoo-r5/kernel/drivers/usb/usb-ohci.o: init_module:= No such device Hint: insmod errors can be caused by incorrect module parameters, includi= ng invalid IO or IRQ parameters. /lib/modules/2.4.20-gentoo-r5/kernel/drivers/usb/usb-ohci.o: insmod /lib/modules/2.4.20-gentoo-r5/kernel/drivers/usb/usb-ohci.o failed /lib/modules/2.4.20-gentoo-r5/kernel/drivers/usb/usb-ohci.o: insmod usb-o= hci failed You may find more information in syslog or the output from dmesg //////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// So I went back to use the kenrel with ohci built-in, with seems to work w= ell enought. So what to do now? Let's try to re-compile co800 right? Oh my, n= ow it can't, it makes me the following errors (Note: I'll wirte the entire inst= all process so you can see if it's correct): //////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// (shell)# tar zxf co800_static_IP_v1.0.0_beta.tar.gz cd co800_static_IP_v1.0.0_beta/ (shell)# nano -w Makefile (LINUX_DIR=3D/usr/src/linux) (shell)# make make -C fwload make[1]: Entering directory `/root/co800_static_IP_v1.0.0_beta/fwload' cc -I../lib/libusb -lusb 5160.c common.o -o 5160 /tmp/ccy8IUXk.o(.text+0x40): In function `send_bulk': : referencia a `usb_bulk_write' sin definir /tmp/ccy8IUXk.o(.text+0x5d): In function `send_bulk': : referencia a `usb_strerror' sin definir /tmp/ccy8IUXk.o(.text+0x2ff): In function `main': : referencia a `usb_init' sin definir /tmp/ccy8IUXk.o(.text+0x304): In function `main': : referencia a `usb_find_busses' sin definir /tmp/ccy8IUXk.o(.text+0x325): In function `main': : referencia a `usb_find_devices' sin definir /tmp/ccy8IUXk.o(.text+0x346): In function `main': : referencia a `usb_busses' sin definir /tmp/ccy8IUXk.o(.text+0x44c): In function `main': : referencia a `usb_open' sin definir /tmp/ccy8IUXk.o(.text+0x48b): In function `main': : referencia a `usb_claim_interface' sin definir /tmp/ccy8IUXk.o(.text+0x494): In function `main': : referencia a `usb_strerror' sin definir /tmp/ccy8IUXk.o(.text+0x4af): In function `main': : referencia a `usb_close' sin definir /tmp/ccy8IUXk.o(.text+0x4ea): In function `main': : referencia a `usb_close' sin definir /tmp/ccy8IUXk.o(.text+0x4fe): In function `main': : referencia a `usb_close' sin definir common.o(.text+0x44): In function `get_descriptor': : referencia a `usb_control_msg' sin definir common.o(.text+0x4e): In function `get_descriptor': : referencia a `usb_strerror' sin definir common.o(.text+0x10d): In function `get_descriptor2': : referencia a `usb_control_msg' sin definir common.o(.text+0x121): In function `get_descriptor2': : referencia a `usb_strerror' sin definir collect2: ld devolvi=F3 el estado de salida 1 make[1]: *** [5160] Error 1 make[1]: Leaving directory `/root/co800_static_IP_v1.0.0_beta/fwload' make: *** [all] Error 2 (shell)# make install // (Let's see what it gives) (shell)# make install make -C fwload make[1]: Entering directory `/root/co800_static_IP_v1.0.0_beta/fwload' cc -I../lib/libusb -lusb 5160.c common.o -o 5160 /tmp/ccIW80Jn.o(.text+0x40): In function `send_bulk': : referencia a `usb_bulk_write' sin definir /tmp/ccIW80Jn.o(.text+0x5d): In function `send_bulk': : referencia a `usb_strerror' sin definir /tmp/ccIW80Jn.o(.text+0x2ff): In function `main': : referencia a `usb_init' sin definir /tmp/ccIW80Jn.o(.text+0x304): In function `main': : referencia a `usb_find_busses' sin definir /tmp/ccIW80Jn.o(.text+0x325): In function `main': : referencia a `usb_find_devices' sin definir /tmp/ccIW80Jn.o(.text+0x346): In function `main': : referencia a `usb_busses' sin definir /tmp/ccIW80Jn.o(.text+0x44c): In function `main': : referencia a `usb_open' sin definir /tmp/ccIW80Jn.o(.text+0x48b): In function `main': : referencia a `usb_claim_interface' sin definir /tmp/ccIW80Jn.o(.text+0x494): In function `main': : referencia a `usb_strerror' sin definir /tmp/ccIW80Jn.o(.text+0x4af): In function `main': : referencia a `usb_close' sin definir /tmp/ccIW80Jn.o(.text+0x4ea): In function `main': : referencia a `usb_close' sin definir /tmp/ccIW80Jn.o(.text+0x4fe): In function `main': : referencia a `usb_close' sin definir common.o(.text+0x44): In function `get_descriptor': : referencia a `usb_control_msg' sin definir common.o(.text+0x4e): In function `get_descriptor': : referencia a `usb_strerror' sin definir common.o(.text+0x10d): In function `get_descriptor2': : referencia a `usb_control_msg' sin definir common.o(.text+0x121): In function `get_descriptor2': : referencia a `usb_strerror' sin definir collect2: ld devolvi=F3 el estado de salida 1 make[1]: *** [5160] Error 1 make[1]: Leaving directory `/root/co800_static_IP_v1.0.0_beta/fwload' make: *** [all] Error 2 //////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// Any one knows something I should ? any question, any help ? anything, ple= ase ?
