The download works, but I always see 0 TX, 0 RX bytes. So I thought to look at my Windows drivers. The tiau5fw.bin file is the same, but I noticed a different tiau5tp.bin (I thought maybe this file codes for some differences between e.g. Spanish and Thai ISP settings *shrug*), so I tried to download it to the modem, with no success. > >P.S. I just moved to Thailand from the U.S., and I used fetchyahoo/KMail to have an archive until I'm settled. Sorry :) Thanks for your help with this mystery! __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Mail Plus - Powerful. Affordable. Sign up now. http://mailplus.yahoo.com |

The driver needs to be adapted to load your firmware: It should read from different addresses (In windoze I have seen that the 8000a53c adress for example is read before beeing used). That is some work but I will try to add an example of what to do to solve the problem. (Be patient I am _very_ busy). Have you tried with the tiau5tp.bin of CVS? > >P.S. Sorry for the formatting. I can't install this. |

Hello, I've managed to install the driver, but still I cannot connect to the Internet... My distro is Mandrake 9.0 (kernel 2.4.19-16). Other people that use this same distro have managed to install the driver and connect with it, but I can't seem to do it. I have all the necessary packages installed (linux_atm, libusb and libusb_devel, etc.). Before I didn't have the kernel sources installed, so I installed them thinking that maybe that was the problem, but the result was the same: I cannot connect. Here are the logs. I think there must be any clue of the problem among them, but I don't have the necessary knowledge to find it. When I try to execute 'sh co800.sh', this is what I get: Using /lib/modules/2.4.19-16mdk/kernel/drivers/usb/usbcore.o.gz insmod: a module named usbcore already exists Using /lib/modules/2.4.19-16mdk/kernel/drivers/usb/usb-uhci.o.gz insmod: a module named usb-uhci already exists Using /lib/modules/2.4.19-16mdk/kernel/drivers/usb/usb-ohci.o.gz /lib/modules/2.4.19-16mdk/kernel/drivers/usb/usb-ohci.o.gz: init_module: No such device Hint: insmod errors can be caused by incorrect module parameters, including invalid IO or IRQ parameters. Another weird thing is that I haven't been able to change their permissions, not even from root: I try to make them writable for the owner (root), but they remain the same. I mean, I should be able to change their permissions being root, but I can't. How's that??? Like I also said, I have all the necessary packages installed. I was missing the kernel sources, but I installed them and nothing changed. Apart from that, the data from 'co800.conf' and '/etc/resov.conf' are correct (I've verified that). I tried as well to execute './co800ioctl 4' from 'fwload' and 'sh reset.sh' from 'co800', but to no avail. The result was the same as the logs included above. Another detail: in 'netup.sh' I changed the route to 'atmarp'. Originally it said '/usr/local/sbin/atmarp', but I changed it to '/usr/sbin/atmarp', which is the route to that program in my box. I suppose this was OK to do, but it didn't work either (as you can see from the logs included). By the way, I don't know if 'atmarpd' must be active for 'atmarp' to work, but if I try to execute 'atmarpd', here's what I get: "atmarpd:ARPD: Linux ATM ARP, version 2.4.0 atmarpd:IO: ioctl ATMARPD_CTRL: Address already in use Fatal error - Terminating" I don't know. I have the feeling it's got something to do with the modules, and something with ATM perhaps, but I don't know how to solve it... After trying to load all the stuff, if I try to surf from a browser, this is what I get (suppose I click a link to Mandrake News): "An error occured while loading http://www.mandrakesoft.com/company/news: Unknown host www.mandrakesoft.com" If any of you guys could point me in the right direction, I would deeply appreciate it. I've been following the driver development from day one, and it just bugs me being actually so close to it, but nevertheless unable to make it right. Sorry for the long message too, but I decided to include all the information I could, because I think that among those logs there must be the answer. So thank you very much in advance!!! And best regards too! __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? U2 on LAUNCH - Exclusive greatest hits videos http://launch.yahoo.com/u2 |

Hi, I have tagged the sources and prepared a release for testing. I want to arrange the code and I may break things so the released files could be used in the meantime. Cheers Jean-frederic |

Hi, I have been fighting with the modem line not comming up and after some tries I think that only a USB log could help. Would it be possible to get "Bus Hound" capturing what happends when the phone line is unplugged and replugged (Wait a little because windoze is only checking each 2 seconds the line status)? Cheers Jean-frederic |
