Can sphinx be used for implementing a voice based search engine for an oline shopping portal with a vocabulary of around 20 to 30 thousand words.
If yes then which version. (sphinx4 or pocketsphinx).
Since the search queries are unstructured and can assume any form, what would be an appropriate way of creating a language model for the above task.

It is better to use kaldi.
Create corpus with rules based on the queries you can imagine. Mix with generic model.
