    Hi all,

    I need to manage many server which open only telnet service, no ssh service. Can I use clusterssh or other similiar tool to send same command to multiple nodes?

    Thanks!

      Currently ClusterSSH only works with ssh and rsh protocols, but it shouldnt be too dificult to add in the ability to use telnet as well.

      I may be able to find time to add in the functionality to the subversion repository within the next week.

      Hi Duncan,

      I tried to modify the .csshrc file, change ssh to telnet path, change ssh_args to blank (''), leave comms=ssh, and it actually worked.
      Great tool, thank you!

      comms=ssh
      #ssh=/usr/bin/ssh
      #ssh_args=-x -o ConnectTimeout=10
      ssh=/usr/bin/telnet
      ssh_args=''

        Thanks for posting this.  I have added the info to the site FAQ.

        I did the retarded way to work on a bunch of Cisco switches.

        I started up multiple ssh's to one box, and then typed 'telnet 192.168.1.' in cssh, and went to each window and gave it the last part of the IP.  Except for the extra step, it worked fine.

        These switches didn't support SSH, or I would have just gone the right way in.
