[Clucene-perl] setMaxClauseCount

I'm having trouble figuring out how to set the MaxClauseCount:

BooleanQuery->setMaxClauseCount(int)

Is this possible using Lucene.pm, and if so, any suggestions?

Also is Lucene.pm being actively used?Not many posts on this list and 
not much on the web... perhaps it makes sense to change over to Lucy or 
some other flavor.
