We are proud to announce a new version of Clubmixer. With version 0.8.1 makes a big step towards a stable, reliable and competitive software audio player.
Improvements include many enhancements of Clubmixer Server – more configuration options, new extension points where plugins can extend Clubmixer with additional functionality, unified media import – as well as updates of all external libraries to provide more stability of the system.
Clubmixer Client centralized important components into a common library that is shared with Clubmixer’s plugins. This provides a common look and feel for the Client as well as panels added by plugins.
Clubmixer has also made its way into academic research. The Vienna University of Technology uses Clubmixer in the research domain of Music Information Retrieval (MIR) to develop and evaluate prototypes of several MIR topics (e.g. automatic playlist generation).

Slychief Multimedia announces the release of Clubmixer 0.7.6. This small release fixes some minor problems and provides a fully functioning User Based Queuecontrol plugin.

The new version of the Clubmixer Suite provides major enhancements to all aspects of the software. Slychief Multimedia now hosts its own music metadata repository, which is made available at www.clubmixer.net.

Now Clubmixer Server identifies the songs and requests additional music information from the Clubmixer Database. This metadata repository in synchronized continuously to detect relationships between the different titles. This information can be used by Clubmixer Server Queue Plug-ins to sort the playlists according your preferences.

Slychief Multimedia Clubmixer reached Alpha state and is ready for download at Sourceforge. The new release includes several archetectural changes, like a new plugin dependency handling. Additionally a wizard was introduced to successfully guide the user in initially setting up the server.
Also some minor changes were applied to the client's user interface.

Development on the Alpha Release has been freezed! Binary packages are provided for download on the Sourceforge project page. These Pre-Alpha packages, available for Windows, Linux and MacOs are considered for testing only and may be instable. Feel free to download and install!

The last Clubmixer Alpha Release ticket has been solved and the long run test finished successfully by constantly playing music for more than 300 hours. The final testing period has just been initiated and if no further major bugs can be found, Clubmixer Alpha is to be released in about two weeks.

To provide access to Musicbrainz metadata service (http://www.musicbrainz.org) a java library was implemented and made available as seperate Sourceforge project. Checkout http://sourceforge.net/projects/javamusicbrainz for further details.
