#3 Mysql connection

Hi everybody ;)
I tried these wonderfull Solution, but i got problems during the installation.

Error: Unable to connect to MySQL database
Warning: The GD php library needs to be installed
Warning: Optional: You should install the APC php lib to get loading bar for uploads.

Any Ideas about these Error and Warnings? (MySQL is running)
I installed it on a Ubuntu Server and my experience with this are "nothing".
I am a Windows "expert".

Hi Maiko, there could be various reasons why the error is occuring, did you create a mysql user and database and supplied it during the install? You would need to check that.
