Hi, it is not a long time that I begun to use clonezilla, ...and already I had the benefit of saving an installation of my OS due to a defective hard disk. While initially I was following the instructions of a tutorial in order to make the backups, now I begin to ask myself some questions. Til now, I always made backups, making an "disk-image" -AS IT WAS RECOMENDED IN THE TUTORIAL-. But now I'm thinking that this way to work could not be (perhaps) the best: because it involves the restoration of HD using clonezilla yet. Now I'm thinking that the technique of the "cloned-drive" could be perhaps more practical, since (as I believe) allows you to use directly the cloned HD. Having no experience I would like to ask if what I think is right and I would like also get some more deepened information about the difference between the two ways of achieving clones: - disk-image - cloned-drive Thank you Regards Angelo |
