[Clonezilla-live] Is it safe to interrupt a Clonezilla Live imaging process?

I am inexperienced with Clonezilla Live, and I chose the wrong imaging
program priority (I think I chose partclone > partimage > dd) for my
computer. Either as a result of this or something else, the process of
creating an image from my hard drive is extremely slow and will take
most of the day.

Is it safe to stop the process of creating the image, or will it
corrupt the hard drive I'm trying to back up? If it is safe to stop
the process, is there a key I should press or should I just use my
computer's power button?
