[Clonezilla-live] access saved image on server

Is there a handy (or even not-so-handy) way to convert the partition 
images saved by clonezilla into full image files that could be 
loopback-mounted and modified, and then convert them back?  I can think 
of some instances where this would be handier than having to go back to 
real disks to make changes.
