Thanks for the suggestion. Yes, I had considered that but it does not seem to be practical in my case. I'll probably be backing up a clean Win XP install (with programs), so I'll need what ...6GBs? A 6GB USB drive runs at $20 + shipping. $20+ vs 2 or 3 blank DVDs ... the blank DVDs win :-) So back to my original questions... See below... Another alternative is to use networking --- copy the image to my netbook. That's possible right? The only catch is that it uses NTFS partitions *and* I encrypted the drive... still possible?
