Steven, Thanks for your reply. On my PC, GRUB is installed on the / (root) partition & I boot into Ubuntu 9.04 from the NT bootloader using the bootpart method ( http://www.winimage.com/bootpart.htm) as mentioned at http://www.mjmwired.net/resources/mjm-fedora-f11.html#install. I could not find Clonezilla Live 20090727-jaunty anywhere in the Synaptic Package Manager, but it is there on the Clonezilla Sourceforge Project page. http://sourceforge.net/projects/clonezilla/files/ Will try out the Jaunty version of Clonezilla. Thanks, Jay Mistry _PS_ As other Linux distributions with newer Linux kernel have support for the ext4 file system (eg Fedora 11), many users who also use Windows w/ Linux & boot through the Windows NT loader would also put GRUB on the / (root) partition of their Linux install. Considering this, will later versions of Clonezilla Live CD have support for backing up GRUB on an ext4 partition ? > > Jay Mistry wrote: > >> I used Clonezilla Live CD (1.2.2-14) to make a backup image of the / >> (root) and /home partitions of Ubuntu 9.04.
