Maybe your problem is not in LVM, it's in partimage.
Some reported that the image was just save and exit very quickly, and
the image size for that partition is less than 1 MB.
If the partition is ext2/ext3, please run
dumpe2fs /dev/sda1 > sda1-e2fsinfo
(Replace sda1 with yours)
and attach the sda1-e2fsinfo.
