Not sure if you meant Clonezilla SE or Clonezilla live.
For Clonezilla SE:
Yes, you can try to use a newer kernel, or try to compile the driver for
your ASUS machine. Once it's done, you can run:
/opt/drbl/sbin/mknic-nbi -k "$KERNEL_VER"
Where "$KERNEL_VER" is the kernel version you have compiled.
For more info, please run:
/opt/drbl/sbin/mknic-nbi --help
For Clonezilla live, maybe you can try the alternative testing:
