I only had a chance to test on one machine, but it wan't quite right.
Eth1 was the interface with link, but the new code showed eth2 and eth3
instead. Mii-tool on another vt shows eth0 down, eth1 up and some kind
of error on 2 and 3 so perhaps this wasn't a normal situation.
