I was having the same behavior this very week!  But I was using version 
1.2.6-59.

Like you, this is something that I do all the time, and I was quite 
puzzled.  In my situation, I was wanting to perform a restore, 
overwriting the existing NTFS partition.  I tried this repeatedly, 
always resulting in the same failure that you described.  I even put a 
different NIC in the machine, and that didn't matter.

I began to think that the error itself might be masking a completely 
different problem that the onscreen clonezilla errors did not mention.

I booted the machine to a mini-XP CD and ran 'chkdsk c: /f' on the 
target partition.  After that, I was able to restore my image.  I don't 
know if this was actually the issue, or if I just got lucky.

[Clonezilla-live] sshfs failing in recent builds

Dear list,

We typically use Clonezilla via sshfs to a central disk-image server. 
This has worked well until recently, when we upgraded the server from 
Debian Lenny (5.0) to Debian Squeeze (6.0).  Upon further testing, 
recent builds of Clonezilla were found to successfully connect to all 
Lenny and Fedora boxes but no Squeeze boxes.

When it fails, the error is always the same.  When booting up a live CD 
I navigate the menus thusly: English Language -> Don't touch keymap -> 
Start Clonezilla -> device-image -> ssh_server -> dhcp -> (server details)

After that I get the following:

Mounting sshfs by:
sshfs -o nonempty -p 22 root@myserver:"/lab" /home/partimag
The authenticity of host 'myserver (x.x.x.x)' can't be established.
RSA key fingerprint is x:x:x:x:x:x:x:x:x...
Are you sure you want to continue connecting (yes/no)? yes
root@myserver's password:
remote host has disconnected
Clonezilla image home directory /home/partimag is not a mounting point! 
Failed to mount other device as /home/partimag!

The server gives the following errors:

[Clonezilla-live] screen capture

Question - How can I capture the ocs_live_run screen output in a text file? I've tried using the 'script' command but the 
restore screen outputs a lot of graphical characters into the text file.  I like the script.txt output for reporting purposes 
but it's messy i the middle.

Stable Clonezilla live 1.2.8-23 has been released.

This release of Clonezilla live includes major enhancements, changes and 
bug fixes.

MAJOR ENHANCEMENTS and CHANGES:

   * The underlying GNU/Linux operating system was upgraded. This 
release is based on the Debian Sid repository (as of 2011/Mar/28).
   * Linux kernel was updated to 2.6.38-1.
   * Partclone was updated to 0.2.22.
   * Live-boot was updated to 2.0.15-1.drbl1, and live-config was 
updated to 2.0.15-1.drbl1.
   * Language files were updated. Thanks to Alex Ibáñez López, Zhiqiang 
Zhang, Gianfranco Gentili, Jean-Francois Nifenecker, Akira YOSHIYAMA and 
Anton Pryadko.
   * New packages were added: disktype, ufsutils
   * Memtest86+ was updated to 4.20.
   * A mechanism was added to check if the saved image is restorable.
   * A better mechanism was added to deal with multiple slices of a BSD 
system.
   * "noatime" and "nodiratime" options are now used when mounting file 
system in prep-ocsroot.
   * The boot parameter "nomodeset" was removed.
   * The ocs_postrun boot parameter (and ocs_postrun1, ocs_postrun2,

   * The sgdisk program is used to process GPT by default. This makes

I try to add a customize scripts under /live/image/live on the pxelinux.cfg
I add

ocs_prerun01="sh /live/image/live/link.sh"

once boot up , the error is can not execute a binary file . I can run on the
shell , but the ocs_prerun won't able to run .

basically I need to enable the usb network ethernet device , some how I
found that only pcie card can get the ip , while my usb network ethernet
device won't able to get the ip .

to change the hd0,0 to hd1,0 , I think the USB detected itself as hd0 , the
internal disk detected as hd1 ...
just wondering how to make the USB detected as hd1 ? so I don't have to

Did you try to change hd0 to different value?

failed .
I think that localboot is not supported for syslinux

It's fakeraid all right. Especially it desyncs when the OS crashes and
has to be rebuilt.

Either way I was able to bring up these fakeraid arrays on some
boards. If using the whole of Natty causes issues you can just install
the mdadm from natty. Note that you will probably need to add the
whole source in case mdadm requires some libraries not present in
Maverick. You will probably want to set the preferred distribution to
Maverick in apt.conf to prevent installing packages from Natty
needlessly.

You can also try to just add the Natty source on one of the clonezilla
live CDs and upgrade mdadm on the running live system. Unless the CD
is too munged by the clonezilla CD mastering scripts it should work.
