I do work with point of sale systems & have used Clonezilla to create images that are used to restore to new computers as we need them & recently had an issue.
I was trying to restore an image, that I created using the latest version of Clonezilla's boot disk. but had an older version of the boot disk & it would not work.
Once I got another copy of that latest disk, all went as expected, but now I'm wondering if that disk is 'backward compatible' & will be able to restore images created with an older version of the boot disk.
Thanks!

We do our best to have the backward compatibility for newer Clonezilla to read the old image.
If you encounter an issue, please tell us the details, error messages, etc. We will do our best to improve that.
