I am using Clonezilla for a month, I can able to create an image and also restore them successfully. But, It taking a half a day to copy the created clonezilla image to any medium. the partition file is taking to long to copy.
Is there any solution for this to copy the image faster as expected ?
Apparently, the problem is because of the compression flags used while creating the images ?
Yes, of-course I know it's look silly. But always it taking too long to copy the partition file and sometimes it failed. I tried with different machines but the same scenario was occurred.
Thanks

So if you meant copying the image files, then the issue is on the hardware, the cable connection, and the drivers, etc.
Hence try to use different types of media or network to do that.

No, I don't think the issue is on the hardware, because I tried different machines with different storage medium as the source device still I couldn't achieve the regular way of copying image files to the thumb drive or any other medium. Specifically, the (.zst) file taking longer time. I knew that it is big file which consists of the partition but still it is taking half a day to copying the image files. Also I tried the storage medium with different filesystem type nothing works. Tried different compression method nothing makes to copy the image file faster or at least in regular speed.
Maybe I could try:
1. Different compression option used on the clonezilla to create a disk image.
2. Replace the extension .zst to something like .txt before copying
Let me try and I will post the hacks
Thanks

OK, sure.
Just no idea why the .zst files take a lot of time, but the rest does not.
Maybe your antivirus program is doing something when you are copying files?

Thanks Steven,
Nobody have the issue like this before ? You just try to reproduce by creating and copy the clonezilla created image folder to the USB or any medium. Me and my friends having the same issue. Also I tried above mentioned tries I listed on my previous message but still can't get the point/solution for it.

As I mentioned, when you copying the files in your OS, e.g., MS Windows or GNU/Linux, your OS will be responsible for this. It's not directly related to Clonezilla.
We copy and transmit the image files very often. Using SSD external disk or upload to NAS server.
When using USB external disk, the bottleneck might be in the interface, i.e., it depends on the USB protocol.
Have you tried to upload the image to your NAS server? Maybe you can compare that with your external disk.

No I could not use any NAS server due to my our wants that we are doing everything locally without any network interfere. I am using this for restoring the whole machine with one single USB which will contain 2 partition. One is for Custom Clonezilla and another is for storing the image file. That's why I am whenever I try to copy the image file to the 2nd partition, it takes half a day to copying.
Maybe, as you said it is because of the antivirus. Its okay I can able to do what I want. The only problem is taking too much time.
Lets close this topic if it expected behavior. Thank you Steven for the support
