I am using a recent version of Clonezilla live, I think it could be 3.0.1-8 x64.
I just find, using it as MBR and not EFI, that on some monitors, some of the text boxes need scroll bars because a lot of the text is off the screen to the right.

No, why wouldi t be related to the linux kernel? It's screen size. When at a low resolution, the text shows up as it would in the 1980s, that size. So there are certain windows that can come up in the encryption or decryption process, where some of the text can't be seen because it's off the screen to the right. Maybe next time I am doing it, I can look at which window it is. There are no scrollbars on the text windows, or how does one view text off the screen?

The reason I guess it's related to Linux kernel is because in the text, console mode, the output of the screen is supported by the Linux kernel. Maybe you can take some photos so that it's easier for us to understand what's happened there?
BTW, please give the latest stable Clonezilla live, i.e., 3.0.2-21 a try. It comes with Linux kernel 6 so the result might be different.

Not sure what you meant. It looks like it's related to Linux kernel, maybe?
