    Hello

I need a bit of help with a recent attempt at cloning. I have a laptop which has a 1TB HDD install on it but it has very poor performace so want to upgrade to an SSD. I've purchased an EVO 250GB Samsung SSD as the replacement.

I've first shrunk the windows system partition on the original HDD so that it was about 220GB. I then used clonezilla to clone the partition to the new SSD drive.

I tried to boot the laptop with the new SSD clone drive but it says the drive is not bootable. I then copied a few more of the partitions thinking they may contain important information which is required to boot but still it will not boot from the SSD.

I have noticed that if I view the drives in disk manager the original partition says (Boot, Page file, Crash Dump, Primary partition) but the clone only says (Primary partitoin).

Is this the reason it wont boot and if so what needs to be done to fix this please?

I have attached an image of two drives in disk manager.

Any help would be really appreciated.

The partition you haved cloned is for the Win10 system, and it does not include the EFI boot files in another partition. Maybe you can try to use Win10 installation disk to fix that.
Or you have to clone the EFI partition, too, then use Win10 installation dsik to fix it.
