I used beginner mode to move to a larger device, but clonezilla left the windows recovery partition blocking extension of the c: partition. How do I use clonezilla to move the recovery partition to the unused end of the device?
    Thanks in advance.

Not sure if anyone is able to help you as it's quite unclear what you are writing. At least I don't understand it.

Sorry about that, and thanks for pointing out that I wasn't clear when asking for help.
The windows drive has three partitions. One partition for system reserved ((starts at zero), next is the C: partition, and last is the Recovery partition. In the original drive that was the whole space.
I used clonezilla to simply copy and it did an exact copy, leaving a multiple TB free space after the Recovery partition.
I'd like to move the Recovery partition to the end of the device, so I have options to expand the C: partition as a simple volume (windows speak).
What settings are recommended to move a partition, and to get it to the end? (as opposed to close to the end).

If you want to do partition moving or resize, you can use GParted live:

    Steven,
GParted looks like the right tool for the job. Thank you for the pointer.
