Hello, I recently setup a Samba Server to store my images for laptops I sell. I have 2 images that I have been using in Clonezilla Live doing a disk to disk restore with no issues at all. Now when I try to copy the image to a samba share after the image is finished it does a check to verify the image can be restored and I get a CRC error on each partition. I have tested the RAM and hard drives and all are good. I did a search and there are around 175 pages of posts about CRC errors. Is it safe to assume that the errors can be ignored? Will I be able to restore the image if that error happens while restoring, or will it stop and not continue? I have not tried restoring from Samba yet. Thanks

I just tried to restore one of the images stored on Samba server and received the CRC error and was not allowed to continue restoring that partition., or the next partition. As I mentioned in original post I know these images are good as when I restore directly from drive to drive the imgae works great. Apparently Clonezilla has problems when storing to a server.

Well, we can not reproduce this issue here, and you are the only one mentioned this issue.
Normally this kind of CRC error is hardware-related. E.g., RAM, CPU fan or network cable,,,
You'd better to check your hardware.
BTW, it's possible you can bypass the CRC error. Just enter expert mode, and choose the option "-icrc", as shown here: https://clonezilla.org//clonezilla-live/doc/02_Restore_disk_image/images/ocs-09-advanced-param-extra.png

Hello, Thanks for your response. I ran another memory test and did find some bad memory. After replacing the memory I was able to save the image without any errors. Thanks for your knowledge and help.
