I would like to ask whether it'd be possible to make a new release of the clonezilla tarball (the package itself, not the Live version) on the stable channel found at https://free.nchc.org.tw/drbl-core/src/.
As it is, the last stable release dates from 2019-07-12 (v3.35.2), and this is still what many distributions ship, including Arch on its official ISO.
As a consequence, many new features and bug fixes are missing in these distro packages, e.g. the assisted unlocking of LUKS devices or some Btrfs compatibility features that can be found in Clonezilla Live. This in turn might increase the number of support requests and bug reports opened downstream/upstream, creating unnecessary support overhead.
If there is a specific reason why no new release has been made on the stable channel, could you point me to it (my search didn't turn anything up) so that I can use it to plead for switching to the unstable channel with the package maintainer?
Thanks,
Best regards
Bastien

I just notified the packager for clonezilla in Arch and linked to this thread, so if I hear of any issues with the big version jump I'll make sure to investigate and report.
Thanks again for your work,

Thanks for asking this. Yes, that's true, we should sync the live version and package source version.
We will sync them recently.
Steven
Hi, any update on the new stable release? What is the timeframe for it (so that I don't ping you needlessly)?
Best,
Thank you so much for your positive answer, looking forward to new synced releases! 🙏🏻
Thanks for asking again.
Actually the stable Clonezilla live will be released next week. Hence the repository will be synced then.
Steven
Wonderful news, looking forward to it!
Thanks and regards,
Bastien
Hi Bastien,
It's synced. Let us know if any issues.
Thanks.
