Hello,
There is a very interesting tool worth of consideration : fsarchiver (the same creator of partimage).
How about to use that like engine for clonezilla ?

Yes, fsarchiver has been included in Clonezilla live for several months. The reason we do not use that in Clonezilla is it still does _NOT_ support pipe, i.e. no stdin and stdout support. Therefore it can not be used for multicast clone.
However, it is definitely can be used in unicast clone. We might try to use that as an option in the future release.

Yeah, that's the only drawback of that tool.
Can you tell me what version of Clonezilla fsarchiver has been included ? Maybe I could download it again ? I'm very interested to clone with unicast.

You can find fsarchiver from Clonezilla live 1.2.3-27 or later version.

I fact I meant that fsarchiver included as engine (like partclone) and not only like a simple binary.
I'm looking forward to seeing fsarchiver used as engine for Clonezilla-Live.
Sure, I knew what you meant.
For fsarchiver, the issue now is it does not support stdin/stdout, so it becomes impossible to be used in the Clonzilla SE multicast mode… So far I still think it's better to have one type of image to support Clonezilla live and Clonezilla SE. However, we might have 2nd thought in the future.
