I have a question. We do deployment of devices on a large scale.
We currently have a server which is capable of serving an image to 24 devices as a time through a 20Gbps line.
We are experimenting with a new server which should be capable of running 48 devices through a 40Gpbs line.
Each device has a 1Gbps connection to our production switch, so in theory there is a bottleneck at the 20/40Gpbs line.
The systems are started one at a time so each system will be in a different part of the restore process.
I read on the lecture material that clonezilla also supports bittorrent. Could adding the bittorrent protocol/connection to the mix increase the speed? Or does the overhead of bittorrent reduce the max performance.
Any advice is welcome, if nobody knows, we shall try it by ourselves.
Thanks in advance!

It really depends. There are many parameters which might have different impacts about the rate.
In some cases multicast/broadcast mechanism might be faster. However, other cases the BT one might work better.

It only when you test you will know which one is better for you.
