hi all,

im getting this error while trying to boot clonezilla live usb ubuntu version 3.1.2.9 amd64

verifiying shim SBAT data failed: security policy violation something has gone seriously wrong: SBAT self-check failed: security policy violation

solved...

extracted the ISO and copied below files to the clonezilla usb (they were already there i think ISO has latest files)

\EFI\boot\bootx64.efi
\EFI\boot\grubx64.efi

do i need to copy the "mmx64.efi" from the ISO to the usb as well

EDIT - ok so i can boot into the usb but now when i try to run clonezilla i get this error

error: bad shim signature. error: you need to load the kernel first.

ok finally sorted it, i downloaded the "alternative-testing 20250512-questing" and now it works!!

mmm so the testing zip worked on one pc fine but another one im getting a BSOD, is the testing one production ready at all?

sorry Steven i do want to apologize as this wasnt a clonezilla problem at all...

I must have downloaded on my usb an older version as mine was 3.1.2.9, as soon as i downloaded to my usb "20250512-plucky" it worked like a charm and no shim SBAT error

the BSOD was because clonezilla did the image but everytime it booted to windows i got the BSOD, that was because in the UEFI i had to disable "Intel VMD" as when i saved the image i had this off so makes sense
