    Hello,
I've been trying to restore a partition to a separate partition and I've run into a bit of trouble. My situation is this:
I had win 8 installed on an ssd (EFI mode) and have recently noticed that the windows 8 setup has installed the boot partition on my hdd and did not create the proper efi partitions on the ssd, because there was already one on the secondary HDD and I forgot to remove it before installing - and now I can't boot without having the second HDD plugged in. So I thought to backup my windows partition, completely erase the ssd, install a new windows 8 properly, and then restore my image over the new windows 8.

I followed the instructions in the FAQ regarding restoring to a different partition by renaming the files from sda2 to sda4 and the parts file but clonezilla returns some weird errors that I don't completely understand, so I made a couple of photos: http://imgur.com/a/mVXF8 I notice that it runs out of space while trying to create a temporary image... my image is 26 gb archived so that makes sense because I assume its trying to copy it to memory.

    any help is appreciated

"it runs out of space while trying to create a temporary image... my image is 26 gb archived so that makes sense because I assume its trying to copy it to memory." -> Some files have to be copied, but most major ones are soft linked. Therefore it does not really need 26 GB size of memory.
Which version of Clonezilla live did you use? Please give the latest testing one, e.g. 20130606-raring or 2.1.2-11 a try.
//NOTE// Backup important data before you use Clonezilla. Just in case.

    Steven.
